ABSTRACT

Polydopamine (PDA) is a novel type of polymer synthesized inspired by adhesion proteins in mussels. It has been widely used in tumor-targeting drug delivery systems due to its natural advantages such as good biocompatibility, excellent photothermal conversion performance, adhesion, high chemical reactivity and multiple drug release response mechanisms. This review summarizes the applications of PDA-based tumor-targeting drug delivery in recent years, hoping to provide references for designing a more reasonable and effective PDA-based multifunctional collaborative tumor therapy platform.

ABSTRACT

italic>Tert-butanol is an organic solvent, widely used in the medical field and chemical industry. It could be characterized by high crystallization temperature and vapor pressure. It could be easily sublimed and removed during the freeze-drying process. This review mainly describes the use of tert-butanol in the lyophilized formulations of poorly soluble drugs, the lyophilization solvent of porous structure productions, and as an ice crystal growth guider. In addition, the application of tert-butanol in nano drugs and aerogels has also been reviewed, as well as the current research progress in its quality and safety.

ABSTRACT

With the implementation of the two-child policy and the growing demand for child health, pediatric medication has been arousing widespread social concern. To develop the drugs suitable for children, including new compounds, new specifications and new dosage forms, is urgently required for pharmaceutical researchers. In this review, several technical bottlenecks for pediatric oral liquid preparations, as well as the novel strategies involved in drug nanocrystals, self-microemulsion, ion exchange resin and Pickering emulsion were discussed, which may be benefit to play a theoretical guiding role in the research and development of children's oral liquid formulation.

ABSTRACT

Cardiac glycoside is a class of steroidal glycosides with significant physiological activities to the heart. Several drugs had been approved for the treatment of heart failure and atrial fibrillation. In recent studies, the researchers have found that cardiac glycoside can selectively inhibit the proliferation of human tumor cells and has potent antitumor efficacy. Unfortunately, the poor solubility and severe adverse effects of cardiac glycoside hindered further clinical application in the field of anticancer. It is an effective strategy to solve the "drug-like" problem of cardiac glycoside by changing the pharmacokinetics and distribution in vivo and reducing the dosage and side effects by virtue of modern preparations technology and treatment scheme. In this review, a brief introduction of the developmental course and mechanism of cardiac glycosides in anticancer field was made, and recent research progress of cardiac glycosides preparations were summarized and discussed. Finally, the further research direction was prospected.

ABSTRACT

3D printing, as a new rapid prototyping technology, has been widely used in the aerospace, medicine, industry, cultural relics protection, and other fields. This paper made a brief summary of the study and application of 3 D printing in drug synthesis, pharmaceutical preparation, pharmaceutical analysis, and new drug research. The future applications and challenges of 3D printing technology were also discussed. This paper aims to provide a reference for the use of 3 D printing technology in the study of pharmacy.

ABSTRACT

@#Artemisinins were reported to have the potential efficacy of anticancer, anti-AIDS, etc. , besides antimalaria. Clinical application of current dosage forms has significant drawbacks, i. e. , poor solubility, high first pass effect, low bioavailability, frequent dosing, low bioavailability, high plasmodium recrudescence rate, etc. To overcome these drawbacks, a hot area of research is to develop novel artemisinin dosage forms by applying new preparation technology. Here we summarized the related patents application technology in order to provide helpful references and recommendations on the development of artemisinin dosage forms, patents protection and layout of intellectual properties to the domestic R&D institutes and pharmaceutical manufacturers.

ABSTRACT

To observe local inflammation reaction and vein thrombosis on rabbit ear vein with methotrexate , ceftri-axone sodium and normal saline .With the extension use of drugs , the numbers of inflammation reaction and throm-bosis in each group were increased , and antibiotic and chemotherapy drug group had a higher rate than the normal saline group .There was a statistically significant difference of the inflammation reaction between the three test groups on the 3rd and 7th day (P<0.05), and a statistically significant difference of thrombosis between the three test groups on the 7 th day ( P<0.05 ) .The physical-chemical properties of drugs and use of time were factors in-fluencing inflammation reaction and thrombosis .

ABSTRACT

Rapid, sensitive and specific methods were developed for the determination of diclofenac in pharmaceutical preparations by linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) and gas chromatography (GC) with mass spectrometry (MS) detection. The linearity was established over the concentration range of 5–35μg/mL for LSV and 0.25–5μg/mL for GC–MS method. The intra- and inter-day relative standard deviation (RSD) was less than 4.39% and 4.62% for LSV and GC–MS, respectively. Limits of quantification (LOQ) were determined as 4.8 and 0.15μg/mL for LSV and GC–MS, respectively. No interference was found from tablet excipients at the selected assay conditions. The methods were applied for the quality control of commercial diclofenac dosage forms to quantify the drug and to check the formulation content uniformity.

ABSTRACT

The quantitative estimation of amikacin (AMK) in AMK sulfate injection samples is reported using FTIR-derivative spectrometric method in a continuous flow system. Fourier transform of mid-IR spectra were recorded without any sample pretreatment. A good linear calibration (r40.999, %RSDo 2.0) in the range of 7.7-77.0 mg/mL was found. The results showed a good correlation with the manufacturer's and overall they all fell within acceptable limits of most pharmacopoeial monographs on AMK sulfate.
